One of the major parts of the nervous system is your brain! You need to understand the three major parts of the brain: 1) Cerebrum, 2) Cerebellum and 3) Brain Stem (or Medulla) and what they do.

The Cerebrum is a part of your brain that helps you think and controls your voluntary muscles. The Brain Stem helps you breath, digest and controls your involuntary muscles. The Cerebellum keeps your balance and helps your muscles work together.

The cerebellum controles your balance. When you are a baby your cerebellum is not so developed so if you walk you would mabye loose your balance and fall!
